Canyon Grail CF SLX
Canyon's second-generation Grail drops the double-decker cockpit and comes back as a fast, focused race-gravel weapon.

At a glance
- Ranking
- #1 of 5 in Gravel Bikes
- Brand
- Canyon
- RRP
- £4,299
Verdict
A properly quick, properly composed gravel bike that finally suits British mixed-terrain riding as well as it does European gravel racing.
What we like
- Genuinely fast on tarmac, still planted on loose stuff
- Clearance for 45mm rubber, no fork faff
- Direct-to-consumer pricing punches well above spec sheet
What we don't
- Integrated cockpit is a pain when you want to fit a bar bag
- No dropper post option on the SLX build
Ride feel
The new Grail is stiffer under power than the old model but the reworked seatstays take the sting out of Britain's endless broken tarmac. On a mix of chalk track, forest fire road and country lanes it feels genuinely versatile.
Spec and value
SRAM Force AXS XPLR and DT Swiss carbon wheels at this price would be near impossible from a big-shop brand. It's a strong reminder of why Canyon's direct-sales model still matters.
