Verdict
The best Brompton yet for anyone who mixes train commuting with genuine hills. Lighter to carry, easier to ride, still folds into the same iconic package.
What we like
- 1.75kg lighter than the C-Line Explore
- 12-speed range handles Bristol and Sheffield gradients
- Still folds in under 20 seconds
What we don't
- Titanium premium is significant
- Ride is firmer than the C-Line on rougher roads
Commuting
On and off trains, in and out of lifts, the weight saving matters far more than the spec sheet suggests. Over a week of commuting from London Bridge to the City, the P-Line is measurably less tiring to carry than the C-Line.
Ride quality
The 12-speed drivetrain is the real story. A proper granny gear finally makes the P-Line usable in hilly cities, and top-end range is high enough to keep pace on a flat stretch of towpath.
